2027 ROUTES OF ROCK REGISTRATION & AUDITION INFORMATION

ROUTES OF ROCK ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must:
- Be between between the ages of 14 and 21 on July 9th, 2027
- Pass a criminal background check if over the age of 18
- Attend in-person interview and audition on November 7th, 2026
- Possess a valid passport
- Commit to regular rehearsals (approx. Feb - June, 2027)

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must audition in person.
Live accompaniment will be provided by Mullins Music faculty members. 
Please do not bring backing tracks to your audition.
Video auditions will not be accepted.

Pianists and Keyboardists
- demonstrate knowledge of major scales and minor pentatonic scales
- perform the organ background and organ melody to “Green Onions” by Booker T & The MGs
- perform the piano chord progression to “Let It Be” by John Lennon & Paul McCartney
- optional song of your choice

Guitarists
- demonstrate knowledge of major scales and minor pentatonic scales
- perform the guitar part (riff and chords) to “Cissy Strut” by The Meters
- perform “Moby Dick” by Led Zeppelin
- optional song of your choice

Bassists
- demonstrate knowledge of major scales and minor pentatonic scales
- perform the bass line to “Money” by Pink Floyd
- perform the bass line to “The Chicken” by Pee Wee Ellis
- optional song of your choice

Vocalists
- demonstrate knowledge of major scales and minor pentatonic scales
- perform “Sittin’ On the Dock of the Bay” by Otis Redding in key of your choice
- perform “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen in key of your choice
- optional song of your choice

Drummers
- demonstrate single stroke roll, double stroke roll, and paradiddles at various tempi
- perform the drum beat to “Come Together” by the Beatles 
- perform the drum beat to “Cissy Strut” by The Meters (as recorded by Zigaboo Modeliste)
- optional song of your choice

Horn Players
- demonstrate knowledge of major scales and minor pentatonic scales
- perform “The Chicken” by Pee Wee Ellis in the key of Bb concert
- perform “Sir Duke” by Stevie Wonder (intro and main riff) in the Key of B concert
- optional song of your choice
